Nine Street Kitchen

If you are ever in the Roswell area of Georgia, you must must must stop and eat at Nine Street Kitchen.  The menu is huge and the price is reasonable! You can sit inside or sit outside in one of the three areas provided.  There's a porch, street side, and picnic blanket dining! So many options!

Make me over

I am absolutely hopeless when it comes to makeup. Like mascara is about the extent of my abilities and even then I have to clean around my eye with a q-tip and makeup remover before leaving the house. It's really bad.  I can't do my hair either, I either straighten it or leave it as it dried after my shower with some wave.

LUCKILY...
My beautiful best friend KT is a real whiz with a makeup brush and hair tools.  She is an angel and does my hair and makeup every day we are together.

KT has decided that I must learn to do my own makeup so we went shopping at Sephora and Macy's for her favorite simple products. I'll let you know how the progress with my makeup goes later on in the week. Keep your fingers crossed!

Couldn't resist the duck face selfie, I just love my hair curled!
KT did it with a straightener, I told you! Genius!

Any makeup tips for the beauty challenged?

The Ultimate Throwback

Without a summer job or an exercise fetish, I've spent most of my summer with my new boyfriend, Netflix. You may know him, he kind of gets around. A few days ago, I needed to find an old picture so  I started digging through my mother's chaotic photo stash. Pretty much a closet filled to the brim with pictures just waiting to be organized.  Little did I know, my mother would let me have her credit card for a trip to the container store and pay me $100 dollars when I finished.

I started by organizing by year, then by event.  I just got so caught up in the process and couldn't help by share some of the precious photos with the world!

had to have my starbucks!

And here are some of my favorite oldies :)

Crafts n Stuff

Shopping for my future dorm room has got me all stressed out.  I have no idea how I'm going to organize myself and that's when the OCD anxiety comes out to play.

To get myself in the dorm decorating/organizing mood, I painted with J.Schamay!

I painted the two on the left and J.Schamay embraced her inner dawg to paint the canvas on the right.

I pulled quotes from my pinterest board to decide which ones to paint!

What quote should I paint next?

Single Life Playlist

After being broken up with, cheated on, emotionally ignored, and then broken up with again all by the same guy, a girl needs a good playlist to get by.

For about a week, I was in the sad, sappy, cry about everything stage. Now, I'm onto the mad, throw my phone at the wall, tear up pictures phase.

Here's what I'm listening to right now...

Done. - The Band Perry
Livin' It Up - Ciara
Change Your Life - Little Mix
Been There, Done That - Luke Bryan
Songs Like This - Carrie Underwood
Delete You - Ashley Tisdale
She's So Gone - Lemonade Mouth
Single Ladies - Beyonce

Any additions?!

The art of a good tailgate

Oh, how we love country concerts down here in the south.
Whether you are a freshmen being dropped off by by your momma or tailgating for hours with random strangers, country concerts are a part of growing up in the south.  From Toby Keith and Rascal Flatts on the Lakewood Lawn to the Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw stadium tours, everyone saves up for tickets to summer long concert series.

A good tailgate needs good people, good food, good music, and good outfits.
Here's what J.Schamay and I wore to Luke Bryan last night!

Any country lovers out there?!

The effects of good stationary

In the past, I have never found an interest in writing letters, but I have found the cutest stationary and it has inspired me.

I can't stop writing letters.

... and with everyone off to college within the next month, my new address book is perfect!

Scallop Obsession

My obsession: Scalloped edging

Lately, whenever I walk into a store or boutique, I naturally gravitate to anything and everything scalloped. I just can't get enough! I think it all started around a year ago when a little tradition consumed my shopping habits.  On the first day of senior year, all the seniors wear black and white.  No one knows when the tradition began or why we keep it going, but it's there and you follow it.  Other high schools have similar traditions such as the girls wearing black dresses with leis with the boys wearing hawaiian shirts.  Although the tradition is silly, it starts off the year with all of the seniors bonding and coming together to get dressed up.
ANYWAYS... rambling... I had never been in a Lilly Pulitzer store and I was desperate to find a dress that was different than all the other girls.  The minute I walked in, I fell in love with a pair of white linen scalloped shorts. They were perfect and different and my mother just couldn't say no.

Now that I'm absolutely enamored by all things Lilly, these are my favorites!

What are your favorite scalloped clothes?

Three Simple Steps to Single

From the girl who has been dumped twice this summer, by the same guy I might add, here are my three steps to single bliss.  It's not easy and it's not immediate, but it'll get you there. Just focus on the positive.

photo from tumblr, source unknown

1. Say goodbye.
Get every last bit off your chest because any leftover feelings or things left unsaid will just sit and fester.  If anything is left to talk about, you'll be more likely to contact your ex in a desperate attempt to rid yourself of feelings.

2. Put everything away.
Get a box. A big box. Put all the trinkets, jackets, t-shirts, everything into a box.  Now put that box deep under your bed or under all you shoeboxes in your closet.  No where you can easily access it.

3. Spend time doing everything you couldn't before.
Have girls nights out, go to all of the chick flicks, eat way too much chocolate.  You're free! Enjoy it! Get dressed up, get your nails done, go all out.

4. Retail Therapy
Shopping solves everything, right?
*what I want right now*

Any good breakup stories? I would love to hear them all!

Independence Day!

Although it is raining cats and dogs down here in Georgia, I hope everyone will be out and about celebrating the day decked out in red, white and blue! I just couldn't resist reporting a picture from Kiel James Patrick because it sums up what you need for the fourth perfectly.

Just Walk It Off

A good friend is one who pushes you to be a better you.  In a little under 24 hours, I will be having surgery on a labral tear on the backside of my shoulder.  As a person who despises sweat and a flushed face, this surgery will prevent me from what few exercises I do, and limit me to a strict walking-only exercise for the unforseeable future.  So, to get me off my lazy behind, J.Schamay is going to make me get up early and walk.  That's what a good friend is.

Usually my workout gear consists of one of my brothers old t-shirts, spandex, and old cheer shoes.  But if I need a little motivation, I really dress myself up.

Must Read Monday: The Night Circus

I could not put this book down.

From the moment I read the first sentence, I knew I would be obsessed until the story ended and then thereafter.  I read for four days straight, whenever I got the chance.  At work, in bed, at breakfast, at the pool, everywhere.  If I had a free moment, I was reading The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern.
You are brought into this fabulously lavish lifestyle and le cirque de rĂªves, the circus of dreams.  The complicated love triangle, magical elements, and intricacy of the circus kept me turning page after page.

Slacking on the job

As The Boston Globe put it
"Get ready to be won over... Part love story, part fable, and a knockout debut... So sparklingly alive, you'll swear the pages are breathing in your hands... The Night Circus defies both genres and expectations."

Definitely a Must Read.
What should I read next?
